I grew up in the beautiful Comox Valley, moving in-between Comox, Courtenay, & Cumberland as a child so I got to experience it all! I visited Vancouver a lot as a child as well and when I turned 18 I moved out to Alberta to live with some friends for a couple of years. I didn’t last long – I hated the freezing cold and missed the ocean way too much, so ended up moving back into Courtenay at 20 and I have stayed ever since.

I am in my 3rd semester of the Advanced Digital Design and Development Diploma, taking it a little slower while I work part-time. I have taken a handful of other DGL classes under my belt already. I am taking this one a bit later than usual because I prioritized Art electives last year and had oh so much fun doing them!

I decided on this program after finishing a Digital Marketing Certificate at BCIT – I realized how boring Marketing was to me and how my favourite class turned out to be the Ad Design class. I figured that was a fun new avenue to explore!

My current goal includes wanting to find a good school, life, and work balance that nourishes my mind, body and soul. Coming out of the pandemic, it has been really hard to get back to where I felt I was before. I want to look forward and get myself back into a place of balance. A long-term goal includes wanting to find a job that combines my love for design, art, science, and development. I love the natural world and want to integrate that into my design and development professionally, whether that is creating content inspired by nature and science, or working for a company that aligns with that.
